1.Windsor Castle 

Windsor Castle is a place where the Queen often goes for a couple of weeks.

This castle is situated just outside london, in Berkshire, south England on the river Thames.

It has been rejuvenated after a fire damaged it badly in 1996.

The castle has been a royal residence since the age of William I.

2. King Arthur 

Arthur is a legendary King whose story is based on traditions of a military leader  who led a Celtic resistance against the invading Saxons in the sixth century.

According to the legend that began to appear in the 12th century, he lived in a place called Camelot. 

He married a Queen whose name was Guinever.

He was brought up by Merlin, The magician.

He proved to be a king when he pulled a sword from a rock.

He received the magic sword from the Lady of the Lake.

 His Knights sat at a round table.

Some say he did not die but lives on, and will return when his country will need him.

6. LouisXIV

Within the Palace  park of Versailles are two small châteaux, le grand, and le petit trianon. 

Both were  built for Louis XIV  by Hardouin and Mansard.

3. Henry VIII

Henry VIII married six times.

Two of his wives were divorced, and two other ones were executed for adultery. 

His divorce from his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, caused a split with the Catholic Church.

He became supreme head of the independant Church of England (1533). 

His reign is also known for the power of his advisers, Wolsey, More, and Cromwell.

7. King James I of England and VI of Scotland

In 1605, Guy Fawkes and a gang of Roman Catholic conspirators wanted to blow up the House of Lords and assassinate King James VI of Scotland and I of England. As part of their plan, they stored gunpowder kegs in the cellars of the House of Lords. These were going to be ignited when the King and the rest of the political elite were assembled in the chamber above them.

  8. Elisabeth II

Her official title in the UK is "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms and
Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."
Nothing in that about being "Queen of England" or indeed "Scotland" as both those monarchies are now united under the "Great Britain" part in the present title.

In Canada her title is "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the
